New Delhi, August 30, 2026: Several parts of India are preparing for another spell of intense monsoon weather, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations in multiple states.

The latest forecast indicates that seven states could experience heavy to very heavy rainfall on Monday, while thunderstorms are also expected across several areas.

The weather conditions are likely to affect transport, road connectivity and normal daily activity in areas that receive intense rainfall. Local authorities in vulnerable locations are expected to monitor waterlogging, drainage systems and other potential weather-related risks.

The monsoon continues to produce varying conditions across the country, with some regions experiencing intense rainfall while parts of peninsular India are expected to see comparatively subdued rainfall activity over the coming week, according to the IMD’s latest assessment.

Residents in areas under heavy-rain warnings are advised to follow official weather updates and exercise caution while travelling, particularly in locations prone to flooding, landslides or waterlogging.

For city administrations, the latest warnings also underline the importance of keeping drainage networks, roads and emergency response systems prepared during periods of intense rainfall.

As the monsoon season continues, weather agencies and civic authorities are expected to maintain close monitoring of rainfall patterns and their impact on communities and infrastructure.
